KEMP ‘RACE’ Health Care Support Workers

(Rapid Access to Carers at End of Life)

As part of the Worcestershire End of Life Care Strategy a team of HCSWs is being developed, to respond urgently to requests for overnight care for patients in their own home, either to prevent hospital admission or to expedite same day hospital discharge for patients at the end of life.

The service will be county-wide and teams of HCSWs will be employed by each of the three Worcestershire Hospices. Occasionally you might need to travel across the county and own transport is essential.

You will be a Health Care Support Worker with a broad experience and hold a minimum of NVQ level 2 or equivalent. You should be used to working in a variety of different settings, and you must be flexible, adaptable, resourceful and able to cope in occasionally stressful situations.

This is initially being rolled out as a 6 month pilot project, but successful applicants may be considered for work within KEMP’s Hospice at Home team.
