Membership & Services

WAVOCC supports Voluntary and Community organisations and groups who take an interest in health and wellbeing in Worcestershire. Whether you are a large charity with thousands of volunteer hours or a small self-help group, WAVOCC remain committed to ensuring you stay connected, informed and involved.

During these challenging times becoming part of the WAVOCC collective supports the unity of our diverse sector. Via our representatives and newly created forums, membership offers the opportunity to have a single voice over issues of concern: to share resources, knowledge and to help build partnerships.

Membership of WAVOCC can open the door to networks and sources of information which help your organisation sustain and grow. Our new online sub-sections, structured around your areas of interest, means the information and collective support you seek is readily available.

In 2011 WAVOCC are excited to introduce a new and greatly enhanced membership package which brings added benefits to groups and organisations working in Health & Social Care: This includes:

Structuring our services to fit your needs:

Sub-sectioning: we have split our membership into your themes of interest and tailored a support service around each theme. This includes regularly updated information on:
o Networks
o Policy and Strategy
o News: funding opportunities, events and training
o Resources
• Via our newsletter, daily web news-stream and monthly bulletins we continue to inform on funding, policy and the current difficult environment

Providing and Sharing Resources:
• We have developed an on-line WAVOCC Market Place http://wavocc.spruz.com – a place to ask for, or share, resources such as: facilities, policies, strategies, and to look for partners for funding applications.

Strengthening the VCS Voice:
• We continue to place WAVOCC constituency representatives on strategic boards of Public Sector Partners
• We provide a support package, induction and feedback process for your representatives which keeps you connected with how they represent your interests
• We are working hard to give us the opportunity to represent on future strategic boards and committees including: GP Cluster Stakeholder Boards, The Health and Wellbeing Board, Appointed Governorships on newly formed NHS Trusts
• We have secured funding from NHS Worcestershire to provide:
o An online electronic Health and Wellbeing forum
http://healthandwellbeing.spruz.com/
o We will use this online forum to isolate issues to discuss at a twice yearly Health and Wellbeing Forum networking events
o From the work of both forums we will produce Position Statements to lobby statutory partners with our issues of concern

Promoting your work to Public Sector Partners:
• WAVOCC act as a vehicle to underline Members worth to commissioners and chiefs of Public Sector partners.
• During 2011 we will be pulling together presentations to drive home our Social Return on Investment, supported by key messages such as ‘WAVOCC members contribute an estimated 760,125 volunteering hours to the county during 2009/10!’
