In 2002 WAVOCC, together with Worcestershire County Council Social Services, developed a joint understanding and signed a 'Worcestershire Protocol' . The protocol sets out a framework for the voluntary sector and Social Services to work together, building good and productive relationships between the two parties based on a shared vision and principles. It also establishes a solid foundation for partnership working in the future.Two Codes of Practice to accompany the protocol were subsequently drawn up and adopted in November 2002.
The codes, entitled ' Consultation and Involvement: A Code of Good Practice'; and 'Funding: A Code of Good Practice' are intended to integrate the Worcestershire Protocol and to strengthen the working relationship between voluntary organisations and the Social Services Department.
