Real jobs for people with learning disabilities - 'making it happen'
25 May 2010, 12:06PM - 25 June 2010, 12:06PM
What will we talk about?
Valuing Employment Now is the government’s plan to help people with a learning disability to get jobs.
In Worcestershire we want to be good at making this happen. We will
have people at the event who can talk to you about getting a job. There
will be information that you can take away that will tell you about this.
We will talk about what is good for employers and for workers when
they give people with learning disabilities jobs. We will talk about some of the things that make it hard for people to get jobs and what we will do about this. There is going to be a new plan in Worcestershire to get more people
with learning disabilities a job. Come along and be part of our plan to give
you the same chances to get jobs as everyone else in Worcestershire.
What is the day about?
• To make sure local employers are still thinking about jobs for people
with learning disabilities
• To look at what we can do when there are problems about people
with learning disabilities getting jobs
• To listen to peoples’ worries about losing benefits and talk about these
• To have information about who can support you to find jobs
• To find out about the things that are happening near you to help people
to get work
Who should attend?
• People with learning disabilities
• Family carers and supporters
• Employers
• Anyone wishing to know more about employment opportunities
