Shared Knowledge Base
"ALL FOR ONE AND ONE FOR ALL"
More On the Shared Knowledgebase
The Care and Well-being Shared Knowledgebase is designed to be a centralised, "all access" resource database for frontline care services.
It will contain information on social care and well being services and issues across Worcestershire. It will be available to County Council and Worcestershire Hub staff, as well as staff and volunteers in participating voluntary and community advice services. There is also the facility for direct public access.
The system is currently being tested by some of the organisations involved in the project and is intended for launch countrywide in December 2009. The project has been developed by a multi-agency project team sharing existing information resources, now working together to extend these further by including resources which may be beneficial in helping people who choose to use a more personalised approach to access support services.
The development of a joint resource will ensure that everyone will be given specific and accurate information regardless of their choice of first point of contact.
It is hoped that all participating organisations will give their full support in establishing and monitoring the Knowledgebase which will ensure that their services are brought to the attention of a wide range of people, newly empowered to choose their own care with a personalised budget under the Choice & Control programme.
Please see the attached documents - Shared Knowledgebase – Questions & Answers, and a Knowledge Base Template. The template is to be used to test the current system and will not be going live at this time. If your organisation wishes a Choice and Control head-start, you can become part of these intial tests by filling out the template and returning to socialcare@worcestershire.gov.uk
