The results of Round Three of our VCS Grants have been announced. The successful applicants, and a brief description of their projects, are below:
First Base Arts Grants
Bromsgrove area:
* Celebrating English Song (celebrating the birth of AE Houseman)
* New Song Community Church (stage production of Oliver)
Worcester area:
* Westside Worcester (arts workshops leading to a performance)
* St Peters Street Dance (a street dance project for young people)
Wychavon area:
* FRAME (Festival of Rural Arts Music and Entertainment – providing arts activities for a festival in the Vale of Evesham)
* Vale of Evesham Network of Artists (a visual arts festival in Wychavon)
Wyre Forest area:
* Home Start Wyre Forest (creative sessions for parents)
* ASHA Wyre Forest (arts activities for women)
* Friends of St George's Park (samba workshops and activities)
Celebrating Diversity Grants
Bromsgrove area:
* EPIC (Empowering People In Communities – Food Around The World event)
Redditch area:
* Caribbean Roots Connection (Black History Month celebration)
Worcester area:
* Worcester Afro Caribbean Association (celebrating Jamaican Independence Day)
* Deaf Direct (an open day during national Learn To Sign Week 2009)
* St Mark's Church (activities to celebrate national Inter Faith Week)
* Worcester Muslim Welfare Association (an event to celebrate all diverse communities and cultures)
* Worcestershire Chinese Association (celebrating Chinese New Year)
Wyre Forest area:
* ASHA Wyre Forest (celebrating Eid, Diwali and Christmas)
* Bangladeshi Community Forum (providing an Eid festival to the wider public)
