Volunteering Placements Required
The project not only supports the volunteers but can offer organisations guidance and advice if required. WVC offer individual support at the level needed by each volunteer.
WVC have many people with a wide range of skills who wish to volunteer. Is your organisation able to offer long or short-term placements that can help to make volunteering more accessible to people with disabilities and mental health issues?
If you have any opportunities please contact me on 01905 24741 or penny@wvc.org.uk
Every so often we get some volunteers with specialist skills. Can you offer placements for the following people?
1. A gentleman who used to work in electronics with computers. His job consisted of building computer systems, setting up networks, creating templates etc. Following an acquired brain injury he has maintained these skills but takes longer to access the knowledge and needs a small, quiet, stress-free office environment where he can build up his speed and ability with computer work – he would be fully supported on placement.
2. A gentleman who wants to develop his computer skills. He has had issues in the past but has for the last year and a half worked hard to rebuild his life. He has some previous experience including basic web design and is looking for a helping hand towards a new future.
3. An ex-grounds man looking for a placement on a Friday in either gardening or general handiwork. We feel that he will only need minimal support as once shown the tasks required he works well alone.
