WAVOCC AGM 2010
The WAVOCC Annual General Meeting was held on Friday, 9th July 2010 at Sight Concern Worcestershire, The Bradbury Centre.
Attendees were welcomed by the WAVOCC Chair, Sally Ellison before Jim Smith, WAVOCC Development Officer, discussed the development of WAVOCC 2010/11. He also presented a decisions paper which outlined enhanced WAVOCC services via sub-sectioning and sliding membership fees.
Dr Frances Howie, Assistant Director of Public Health, NHS Worcestershire was kind enough to speak concerning “The Third Sector and the NHS - Working in Partnership in Health and Social Care Service Delivery”. Dr Howie has allowed us to publish her Power-Point presentation below.
Dr Howie’s talk was then followed by Kevin Maton, Network Director, Social Enterprise West Midlands who discussed “Social Enterprise: Making a Difference in Health and Social Care”. Please also find Kevin’s presentation attached.
Both speakers then participated in a question and answer session, together with Adam Russell, Choice and Control Team, Worcestershire County Council and Keith Sherman, WAVOCC Treasurer and West Midlands representative on the Age UK Health and Social Care Partnership. We would like to thank all panel members who took full responsibility for question and answers.
After lunch an optional discussion group ‘VCS Opportunities with the NHS’ was held, led by Sonia Spurr, Community Engagement Manager, NHS Worcestershire and Dr Frances Howie.
