WAVOCC Networking Event
Community Cohesion and ‘Generations Together’ in Worcestershire
Thursday 18th February 2010, 1.30pm – 4.00pm
(Venue to be confirmed - further details to be announced in the New Year)
WAVOCC are in the process of pulling together a 2010 network meeting. There will be an introduction to intergenerational work in Worcestershire and how WAVOCC have been a part of the development of this work. In 2009 Worcestershire became one of only 12 local authorities in the country to receive funding from the Generations Together initiative. WAVOCC's activities to help this happen included the co-development of an intergenerational strategy, chairing the county's intergenerational steering group and developing pilots that were integral to the final application for funding.
This will be an excellent opportunity to network with WAVOCC members/non members and discuss how putting older/younger people together in mutually beneficial activities can greatly aid community cohesion. We are also in the process of inviting a national speaker on intergenerational development and best practice. Invitations will be sent out in the New Year. Meanwhile if you would like to sign up early for this event please contact Kate Pursglove at wavoccadmin@btconnect.com
